TRITC conjugated maackia amurensis
Product name
Maackia amurensis, lectin
Full Product Name
Maackia amurensis (MAA) (TRITC)
Purity / Purification: Purified
Shape / Format
Supplied as liquid in 0.01M phosphate, 0.15M sodium chloride, pH 7.2-7.4, 0.05% sodium azide. Labeled with TRITC.
Activity
Less than 0.5 ug/ml will agglutinate human type O red cells.
Carbohydrate specificity
Sialic acid alpha (2,3) galactose.
A chemical substance used for conjugation: TRITC
Inhibitor carbohydrate
Not inhibited by simple sugars at <50 mM. Lactose and sialic acid will exhibit some inhibitory potency at concentrations greater than 75 mm. Alpha sialylactose (2, 6) is the most potent inhibitor of leukoagglutination.
Preparation and storage
It can be stored at 4 degrees C for short periods. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum product recovery, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and before removing the cap. Additional dilutions can be made in assay buffer. TRITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
Other notes
Occasionally, small volumes of Maackia amurensis lectin vials can become trapped in the product vial seal during shipping and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial in a benchtop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid on the lid of the container. Some products may need to be shipped with dry ice and an additional fee may apply for dry ice.
Related Product Information for Maackia amurensis lectin
- Pure lectin from Maackia amurensis (MAA), conjugated with TRITC.
- Lectins are derived from extracts of plants, animals, viruses, and microorganisms and are known to agglutinate red blood cells. These agglutinins can select cell types according to blood group activities using sugar-binding mechanisms.
- Lectins form precipitates with glycoconjugates and are useful for identifying or separating oligosaccharides with identical sugar compositions such as galactose, mannose, or glucose.
